Helen Luedee is a distinguished leader with extensive experience in the field of Mental Health & Addictions.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Community Studies) degree from Cape Breton University, a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Dalhousie University, and a Master of Social Work degree from Memorial University, showcasing her commitment to academic excellence and professional growth.

Her most recent role prior to EHN was as the Clinical Manager at TELUS Health, where she brought her expertise to bear in advancing healthcare solutions. Before TELUS Health, she served as the Manager of the Mental Health & Addictions, Opiate Recovery Program for Nova Scotia Health (Eastern Zone) in Cape Breton Regional Municipality. In addition to her leadership roles, Helen operates a thriving Private Practice as a Counsellor and Consultant in Sydney, NS, where she has been a trusted source of support since 2012.

Helen’s connection with academia is profound, having dedicated 20 years to Cape Breton University.  She commenced her journey as the institution’s first full time Human Rights Officer and later assumed the role of Clinical Social Worker, overseeing the Counselling program for students.  She also taught in the Political Science Department and made significant contributions in the Psychology Department where she contributed to pioneering a course and certificate program in a focused on Mental Health (Applied Psychology in Mental Health). 

In her personal life, Helen cherishes her role as a parent to four children and is passionate about leading an active lifestyle including curling, skiing, golfing and boating.
