Michael has been a firefighter for 20 years, and is currently an Operations Captain with the Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency.

Mike is the former Secretary for the International Association of Firefighters L268, the former Nova Scotia VP for the Atlantic Provinces Professional Firefighters Association and a member of the WCB Provincial Mental Health Steering Committee for First Responders.

Mike has worked in peer support since 2012 directly and indirectly with the HRFE peer support team and is a founding member of the charity Fight4Life.
