Sarah Plowman is a Multi-Skilled Journalist for CTV National News, based in Fredericton, N.B.
Plowman studied international relations at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa while playing NCAA Division I tennis. She then studied journalism at the University of King’s College in Halifax.
She began her journalism career in her hometown of Halifax with CTV News Atlantic in 2009. She eventually headed west in 2014 for six years to work in various roles with CTV News in Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Alberta before returning to CTV Atlantic in 2020. Plowman joined the CTV NATIONAL NEWS team in October 2023.
Plowman has reported on many major events in Canada, including Hurricane Fiona in 2022, several federal and provincial elections, the 2014 Moncton shooting, and the La Loche shooting in 2016. Her career highlights include flying with the snowbirds in Saskatoon, covering the NHL playoffs in Winnipeg, and training journalists in Amman, Jordan as part of a program with Journalists for Human Rights.
Plowman has been recognized with multiple awards for her work, including the RTDNA Canada Atlantic Region Best VJ/Video Award in 2023, and the RTDNA Canada National Breaking News Award in 2022.
She speaks English and French.
